Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Edwardian novelty silver pin cushions are small, highly detailed sterling silver containers shaped as animals, birds, or household objects, fitted with a fabric pad to hold pins and needles, popular as desk ornaments and collectables during the early 20th century.

These items were typically constructed from sterling silver, often featuring hallmarks indicating the assay office and maker, and filled with cork, sawdust, or stuffing beneath a velvet, silk, or plush fabric covering.

Authenticity is verified through clear metal hallmarks, crisp casting details on the figural silver body, traditional construction methods, and period-appropriate textiles used for the cushion insert.

These small decorative objects work well as refined focal points when placed on bookshelves, side tables, or desks, adding a layer of historical interest and tactile contrast to contemporary schemes.

Preservation requires gentle cleaning with a specialist silver cloth to avoid damaging the fabric insert, keeping the piece away from direct moisture, and storing it in a stable, dry environment.
