Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Ayutthaya style, originating from 14th to 18th-century Thailand, is renowned for its graceful standing and seated Buddha figures dressed in flowing monastic robes. Statues frequently feature tall flame-like ushnishas and refined, serene facial expressions that reflect spiritual balance.

These statues were traditionally created using the lost-wax casting technique (cire perdue) from bronze alloy, after which gold leaf was applied over a lacquered surface. Over time, natural environmental exposure produces characteristic verdigris oxidisation where the underlying bronze shows through.

Authentic period bronzes exhibit natural wear patterns, genuine age-related patina, and residual core material inside hollow castings from historic clay moulds. Detailed hand-chiselling on features such as hair curls, waistbands, and robe hems also signals traditional hand craftsmanship.

A standing bronze Buddha creates an impactful focal point when positioned on a dark wood sideboard, inside a lit alcove, or on a minimalist pedestal against a neutral backdrop. Subdued accent lighting helps highlight the varied texture of aged leaf gilding and patinated metal.

Gilt bronze surfaces should be dusted lightly using a soft, dry microfibre cloth or horsehair brush without chemical polishes that could strip historic leaf gold. Maintaining a stable indoor humidity level prevents active bronze disease and copper corrosion.
