Fine quality pair of early C19th Empire-style bronze and ormolu bronze candelabras.

Raised on circular ormolu-banded circular column bases onto stepped plinths, the patinated bronze figures modelled as female maidens or Vestals holding bowls into which the twin adjustable-width finely-cast candle-arms fit .

The heads of the figures mounted with a further ormolu candle-holder designed as a classical urn with ‘ram’s-head’ handles .

In excellent original condition, the patinated bronze with a consistent colour and surface , the ormolu bronze retaining a brightly-gilded patina . Minor wear and chips to bases of marble columns commensurate with age and use .
