Antique Cameo Brooch of Hermes ( Mercury)

Description

This is an exceptionally finely carved cameo of Hermes.

Hallmarked identifying the frame to be 9ct yellow gold.

The brooch guard chain is still attached.

I have taken a photograph from the reverse to hopefully show you the translucency of this piece.

Likewise I have taken inside view picture to try and identify to you the depth of carving.

It is a beautiful piece with incredible detail.

Overall length of the oval 5cm

And it extends to almost 4cm wide
