Antique Scottish Silver Beer Jug.

Description

Great quality Early Victorian silver, lidded beer or cider jug; in Geo,III manner, of plain straight-sided cylindrical form with banded decoration to the body. The hinged lid is slightly domed with fluted decoration to the top and a fine shell thumbpiece. This piece bears a crest and is of good size and weight ; it is hallmarked on both the body and the lid. Lovely piece, and really quite rare.
