Rare Georgian English Sterling Silver Letter Envelope Opener 1816 Desk Antique

A super quality unusual solid sterling silver and wooden handled letter opener. It is hallmarked for London 1816 with the maker’s marks being WE WF, note I suspect the handle has been replaced as it appears more modern. It has been superbly made in an Arts and Crafts design and is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 8.5 inches (21.5cms) long and weighs 58 grams. A very nicely designed example.
