Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Chuval is a large utilitarian storage bag traditionally woven by nomadic Turkmen tribes of Central Asia for transport and yurt organisation. The term Kizil refers to the vibrant red or pinkish dye tones derived from natural madder root, which form the primary field colour of these specific textiles.

These textiles are hand-woven predominantly from high-grade wool, incorporating flat-weave kilim techniques alongside supplementary weft patterning. Natural dyes sourced from plants and insects provide the characteristic crimson, magenta, dark blue, and cream colour palette.

Authentic nineteenth-century examples feature fine hand-spun yarn, hand-bound selvages, and subtle abrash variations in the dye. They often retain their plain-woven backs and display geometric tribal motifs specific to the Tekke clan structure.

These versatile woven panels can be mounted as framed wall art to add rich colour and texture to a room, or fitted over a cushion pad for use as a floor pillow. Their graphic geometric bands complement both contemporary minimalist and eclectic interior schemes.

Display the textile away from direct sunlight to avoid fading of natural dyes, and maintain stable atmospheric humidity to deter pests. Gentle vacuuming using a low-suction upholstery attachment without a brush roll is recommended for routine dust removal.
