Produced primarily from the late Qing Dynasty into the early twentieth century, these items combined traditional Chinese motifs, such as dragons and clouds, with functional western forms for export and elite domestic markets.

Crafters constructed these pieces using hand-formed silver filigree wirework, applied polychrome vitreous enamels, and carved jadeite or nephrite elements, often finished with gold-wash gilding.

Authentic pieces display hand-carved jade with natural inclusions, intricate wirework filigree, silver hallmarks or export stamps, and hand-applied vitreous enamelling with minor surface variations.
