It opens to reveal a photo compartment to one side with photo of a Victorian lady
The other side is engraved "In memory of A.F obt. 31 March 1874"
This is a very special mourning locket that is highly collectible

It is 4.1cm (1 5/8") long including bale x 2.5cm ( 1 ")wide
Electrically tests 15ct gold
It dates to the mid Victorian period circa 1870
Weight 10.5 grams
It is in excellent condition for age - a few tiny scratches to the cross enamel that are not noticeable
