Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian jewellery, spanning roughly from 1901 to 1910, is characterised by light, airy motifs, intricate openwork metal designs, and a frequent combination of pearls and coloured gemstones set in high-karat gold or platinum.

Pendants from this era commonly featured 15-carat or 9-carat yellow gold, natural seed pearls, and various precious coloured stones such as topaz, peridot, amethyst, and aquamarine, often arranged in symmetrical or garland motifs.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit period-specific hallmarks indicating metal purity, handcrafted settings with delicate millegrain detailing, and signs of age-appropriate patina on the gold and gemstones.

To preserve antique jewellery, store pieces individually in soft-lined boxes away from moisture and direct sunlight, and clean them gently with a soft microfibre cloth without using harsh chemical dips or ultrasonic cleaners.

An antique pendant can be worn as a focal point on a simple chain for daily wear or layered with contemporary minimalist gold chains to create a curated, mixed-era aesthetic.
