Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

Chinese enamel bowls developed significantly during the Ming and Qing dynasties, combining traditional metalworking or ceramic techniques with intricate painted enamel designs influenced by foreign trade and imperial patronage.

These pieces typically utilise a metal or ceramic body coated with vitreous enamel, applied by hand using delicate metallic wires for cloisonne or painted directly onto the primed surface for painted enamel varieties.

Authentication involves examining the weight, the characteristics of the enamel glaze under magnification, the presence of reign marks on the base, and the natural ageing of the materials.

Displaying the piece as a standalone centrepiece on a console table or within a glass-fronted cabinet introduces a vibrant splash of colour and historical texture to modern spaces.

Keep the object away from direct sunlight, avoid harsh chemical cleaners, dust gently with a soft dry cloth, and maintain stable indoor humidity levels to prevent glaze deterioration.
