Description

Vivid natural dyes of green, blue and biscuit, gold tones on a deep red background, this Heriz runner is an interesting and beautifully woven piece.  It has been reduced in width, with a border or two missing, making it a hard to find narrow size! The missing borders probably were damaged at some point in its life, hence being removed.  The lovely blue minor border is a great framing colour to the brick red tones, and the whole runner works very well with just this one minor border.

We supply excellent rug underlay that would add durability and stop this antique runner from moving on a wooden, tiled or carpeted floor.

Reserve this antique runner and arrange either a home viewing or to see it at our barn showroom.

Interior designers you are very welcome to reserve this runner for your project too, click on reserve to request this service.

Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Heriz carpets originate from the Heris region in north-west Persia and are celebrated for their robust, geometric medallion designs and heavy, durable construction.

Traditional Heriz runners feature hand-spun wool pile knotted onto a cotton foundation, utilizing natural vegetable dyes derived from sources such as madder root and indigo.

Authenticity is identified through characteristics such as hand-knotted construction, slight irregularities in the geometric motifs, natural abrash colour variations, and the use of a heavy cotton warp and weft.

An antique runner adds texture and warmth to transitional spaces like hallways or corridors, pairing effectively with minimalist decor to ground the room with historic character.

Preservation requires regular gentle vacuuming without a beater bar, professional specialist washing when necessary, and the use of a quality underlay to prevent sliding and fibre wear.
