The hidden sprung stationary compartment (accessed by a button in inside the righthand drawer) has an interior with 3 small satinwood fronted drawers and 4 pigeon holes. The piano shaped fall opens to reveal a 2 drawer satinwood interior and an adjustable pull out writing/reading slope which retains the original gold tooled purple leather writing surface, pen tray, paper clip holder and spaces for ink pots. The panelled front with top quality carved cabriole leg supports resting on a shaped plinth with turned bun feet and hidden castors. The right hand side with 4 mahogany lined drawers all with turned rosewood pulls, brass escutcheons and working locks (with keys). The left side with false drawers and matching turned pulls and escutcheons. The freestanding back with matching panel and applied mouldings.
