Puckerings has dated this piece to a period later than 1960.
The box was made by the English silversmith, Padgett & Braham Ltd. for Cartier and is fully hallmarked for 1961.
The interior is lined in cedar wood with two removable dividers allowing it to be used for large cigars, the interior having a width measuring 7".

The box sits in it's original Cartier presentation box with gold printed cream silk in the inside of the lid, printed for Cartier, London, Paris and New York, an unfortunate mark on the silk, the box still in very good shape.

A stylish box in excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age and use measuring 7 1/2" x 3 1/2" x 2" with the red case measuring 9" x 5 1/4" x 2 1/2".
