We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

A wine taster, or tastevin, is a shallow vessel traditionally used by wine merchants, sommeliers, and winemakers to quickly assess the clarity, colour, and quality of wine before casks were bottled.

Traditional wine tasters are almost exclusively crafted from solid sterling silver, chosen because the highly reflective metal and internal embossed patterns help evaluate the colour and brilliance of the wine even in dim cellars.

Authentic pieces bear official British assay office hallmarks, including symbols for the makers mark, standard sterling silver (such as a lion passant), and a date letter corresponding to the year of manufacture.

A silver wine taster can be displayed as a decorative accessory on a home bar, styled on a drinks trolley, or showcased within a glass-fronted cabinet alongside other polished metal objects.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a non-abrasive silver cloth or specialized mild silver dip to preserve the fine detail and patina, avoiding harsh scrubbing that can wear down engravings and hallmarks.
