FAQs

An antique match striker is a specialized accessory designed to hold safety matches and provide a textured surface on the exterior to ignite them.

They are commonly crafted from sterling silver mounts combined with textured glass, ceramic, or porcelain bodies intended for friction strikes.

Authenticity is verified by checking for official hallmarks indicating the metal purity, assay office, and date letter corresponding to the period.

These small objects work well displayed on a coffee table, bookshelf, or desk as functional decorative accents.

Antique silver should be cleaned gently with a specialized microfibre cloth and non-abrasive silver polish to preserve the patina and hallmarks.
