Description

This fabulous Dutch burr walnut bureau is in excellent antique condition. It exemplifies quality craftsmanship with typical Dutch styling, featuring a bombe form accentuated by corbel-like mouldings on the sides. The bureau boasts three beautifully shaped graduating drawers with original ornate handles and escutcheons, complete with a decorative working key. The fall front rests on two slides with green baize on top to protect the wood. Inside, it is fitted with inlaid and shaped drawers, pigeon holes, and hidden compartments. The bureau stands on carved claw and ball feet at the front and bracket feet at the back, with a quality carved shaped apron at the front. As with all antique furniture, there are some imperfections, but this is a solid piece and a true statement piece in any home or office.
