This is a highly decorative Antique Victorian silver plated biscuit barrel with rotating handle, the base bearing the makers' mark of the renowned silversmith  Philip Ashberry & Sons, Sheffield, with the inventory no.1271, circa 1890 in date.

This wonderful container could house anything from sweets to biscuits or trinkets.
