Dragoncharger Antiques has dated this Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Bowl to the 1890s.
High-quality cloisonné with skilled brass wire work and multi- coloured enamels. Central decoration with small bird perched in a tree. Karakusa flowers, pionies, grasses and a variety of geometrical patterns held within medallions. The dark green enamel is unique to this era.
External area of bowl profusely decorated with grasses and flowers.
Condition: Excellent condition and good circular shape. Small dent in base (shown in photo).
Dimensions: Height = 12.5cm; Diameter = 30.5cm (approx).
