There is an inscription on the interior which reads "From H.G.Officers, 3rd Flintshire Home Guard, on her 21st Birthday".
It is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham, 1917 and the maker Deakin & Francis.
It is in good condition for its age and the hinge and catch are in good order. There are a few small dinks and surface marks and light scratches but no major damages and overall it displays well. It has been gently cleaned and polished is ready for use.
