Art Deco Gold Plated Purse

1900 - 1920
Description

A beautiful example of a small Art Deco purse. It has a gold plated frame with a clasp adorned with blue glass stones. The main body of the bag is finely linked gold plated chainmail and it has a larger linked handle.

It is excellent quality and comes in its original box with a retailer's name in Rio de Janeiro and a hand written card from 1924.

The purse is in very good condition for its age and the clasp is strong and secure. The mesh is in good order with no major damages or holes. The box is a little worn and scuffed and one edge piece is missing but overall it displays well. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.

Approximate Measurements :

Height : 7" / 18cm (including chain)

Width : 3” / 8cm
