Art Deco Silver Teapot

1920 - 1940
Description

A good example of a small solid sterling silver tea pot. It stands on a round foot with a band of engraved decoration below the lid. It has a turned ivory finial and ivory handle. It is stylish and good quality, weighing a total of 460g.

It is clearly hallmarked for Sheffield, 1931, Alexander Clark & Co.

It is in good condition for its age and the hallmark is clear. There are a couple of minor old hairline cracks in the ivory but it is strong and sturdy and still displays well. There are some general faint surface scratches and a few light surface marks but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
