A 19th century Glass and Silver Claret Jug. It has a solid silver lid, cap and handle hallmarked for Birmingham 1878.
Produced by the Stevens and Williams glass company located in Staffordshire, their recognisable cutting is testament to their high quality and individuality. The designers took their influence from the Ancient Greeks as the style is meant to emulate ‘rock crystal’ vessels from 100 BCE.
