A 17th Century Alms Dish.

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Youngs Antiques

A 17th century repousse alms dish depicting St George on horse back slaying a dragon. The broad rimmed charger has a wide banding of renaissance repousse designs along with satyre masks on the outer rim, it then steps into an inverted gadrooned boarder, and then a punch work boarder, followed by a smaller repousse ring around the central roundel. The charger is in fine condition for its age and has a lovely lightly polished patina, there are also two very small holes at either end for hanging.
