The Art Deco style, prominent from the 1920s to the 1930s, is characterised by geometric symmetry, clean lines, and the use of platinum alongside white and yellow gold to frame diamonds and coloured gemstones.

Jewellery from this era frequently utilised platinum for its strength and malleability, allowing for intricate, delicate settings that securely held old cut diamonds without adding excessive metal bulk.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-cut diamonds such as old European or old mine cuts, hand-carved or pierced metalwork settings, and appropriate period hallmarks indicating the metal purity and maker.

An antique ring pairs effectively with contemporary minimalist bands or can serve as a striking standalone statement piece, bridging historical craftsmanship with modern everyday wear.

Regular professional inspection of the claw settings is essential to ensure the stones remain secure, and cleaning should be done gently using warm soapy water and a soft brush, avoiding harsh ultrasonic cleaners on fragile settings.
