18th century
Description

-Welcome to Mersham Manor Antiques-

A charming early 18th century George II solid oak bureau cabinet/bookcase.

c1720.

The bureau section has a fall-front which opens to reveal a fitted interior, with an arrangement of several pigeon hole compartments, over four solid oak small drawers flanking a small central door with the original brass escutcheon opening to reveal a storage space. This is over a chest of four graduating solid oak drawers of dove-tail construction.

The top section has two doors having fielded panelled fronts, with ornate brass escutcheons. With a moulded cornice above. The doors open to reveal a fitted interior, featuring two fixed oak shelves, several pigeon hole compartments, over four solid oak small storage drawers, with original sliding candle stand.

We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
