Description

A shining solid silver Victorian chain with each alternate link beautifully hand chased with an ivy leaf pattern. To the Victorians, well versed in the language of flowers, the ivy was a powerful symbol of enduring love, whether that of a deep friendship or a romance.

The necklace is in very good antique condition and closes with a large springring clasp. The silver has a lovely slightly blackened patina which we have not overpolished.

The silver is not hallmarked, which is not unusual for these types of necklaces, but has been tested to confirm it is sterling silver.
