This is good antique Feraghan Rug from West Iran, dating from around 1900. The attractive design has a deep indigo field of gol henna around a rich red medallion framed by pretty spandrels and samovar motif borders flanked by ivory guard stripes. The carpet is in very good serviceable order with only a little wear to the ends, it has an even pile and complete selvedges. It measures 192 cms by 131 cms.
