Rare German 800 Solid Silver Shoe Snuff Box C1900 Antique 58g

1900 - 1920
Description

A very unusual good sized rare German cast solid silver box, possibly a snuff box. It is hallmarked with the German crescent moon and crown mark, the 800 standard mark and the makers mark GR. I would date it to c1900. It has been superbly designed being in the form of a shoe with the lid being cast depicting a female and male deer and wild boar. It is in super condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs, gilded inside. The lid closes tightly. It measures approx. 3 inches (7.4cm) long by 1.25 inches (3.2cm) wide by 1.5 inches (4cm) tall and weighs 68 grams. A very pretty piece.
