Antique English Sterling Silver Jewelry Tray / Ring Tree - 1907

Description

A most unusual piece, made from sterling silver with the most exquisite pierced or reticulated border with floral and foliate motifs.

The tray has both the English silver hallmark for the highly collectible Chester assay office and the year 1907, so a true Edwardian example. There are the initials for the maker, CC for the silversmith, Colen Hewer Cheshire. The opposite end of the tray is lucky enough to also have the design registration number 254068 for the year 1895.

The central ring tree has three branches to hand rings from; the tray of course useful to collect together other pieces of jewellery at the end of the day.

Excellent condition, measuring 5 3/4" x 4 1/4" x 4 1/2" tall. Weight: 104.4 Grams or 3.35 Troy Ounces.
