Antique English Figural Hat Pin Stand / Holder - Sterling Silver - Owl

Description

A really special and absolutely charming hatpin holder made from sterling silver standing on a wooden base. The silver mount surrounding the velvet cushion where the pins would be rested has a hallmark for Birmingham 1908, Edwardian in era.

The makers initials are also present C & N for the silversmith, Crisford & Norris; I also see the Lion Passant mark on the pillar and the base of the owl.

Of course, what makes this particularly special is the charming double-faced Owl which sits on the top of the stand, both sides, he retains his amber coloured glass eyes.

Highly collectible in excellent condition. The base measuring 3" in diameter, standing 5 1/2" tall.
