Edwardian Carnelian Glass Chain Drop Earrings in 9ct Gold

Fantastic fat amber glass teardrops suspended from fine nine-carat gold chains. Possibly Venetian glass. In the ear they look exactly like cornelians/carnelians (darker and less orange in colour than in some of the photos); when held up to the light they have gorgeous swirling patterns inside.

• Condition: Overall in very good antique condition, one of the drops has a tiny chip next to the gold cap when seen under magnification (see photos).

• Fixing: Nine-carat gold butterfly scrolls.

• Hallmarks/stamps: Marked "9CT" on the cap. Butterflies stamped "9".

• Era: Estimated Edwardian.

• Size: 4cm total drop; the glass drops measure approximately 1.2 x 1.8cm.

• Weight: 9.6g.
