Description

Gents 1930 silver Fontainemelon wrist watch.

The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel hand-winding movement, probably by Fontainemelon, which is working nicely.

The watch measures 26.5mm wide excluding the later winding crown and 27mm high excluding the lugs. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the hinged case back for Glasgow 1929. The case is in good condition for such an early piece, a small slight indentation to the back and a little unevenness to one side but overall not too detrimental at all. The back of the watch has an inscription, ‘Reg from Ivy, Nov 27th 30’.

The curved lens is in good condition (some reflection showing in the photos).

The dial is in its original finish. One of the hands is a period replacement.

The watch has a vintage leather strap, and it all comes in a new presentation box.
