Description

Persian silk rugs have a magic of their own. The combination of fine glossy silk and intricate designs combined with exquisite colouring can be very alluring. This lovely silk Kashan rug certainly fits the bill. The weave is fine with a very velvety silk pile. The rose medallion on the mid-blue background in the field is very elegant and is surrounded by flowering vines and blossoms which are contained within ivory spandrels. The mid-blue border matches the field colour, an unusual feature, and is decorated with palmettes and leaves. The entire composition is highly elegant, and a delight for the eye.. In very good condition, and professionally cleaned. This rug would enhance any decorative setting and could work equally well on a floor or wall.
