Pair Large Antique English Sterling Silver Hair Combs - 1906/7

Description

I have never actually come across a pair of these hair combs, if they were originally a pair, they have usually been separated over the last 100 years or so.

These are a grand and impressive size, measuring 4 1/4" wide (max) x 4" tall (max), and made from a good solid gauge of silver.

The fronts are beautifully decorated and the rear is where the English hallmarks can be found for the highly collectible Chester assay office, struck in the years 1906 and 1907. The makers initials J & R G for the silversmiths Joseph & Richard Griffin.

Excellent condition.
