Highly decorative, well proportioned English silver plate Corinthian column oil lamp base, circa 1880
The plinth with dragoon moulded edges and classical urns, the column with spiraling acorn and oak leaf swag.
Later converted to an electric table lamp and engraved as a golf trophy for
Formby Golf Club Autumn Meeting 1900 1st Handicap Prize Won by Edgar C. Hornby
High quality, silver plated nickel, EPNS , unmarked.
Silver plate surface lightly worn but still very presentable.
Height to top of bulb holder 17,1/2'' or 45cm, weight 3.8 kilos
Removable conversion mount, wired and fitted with switched BC BS22 bayonet cap bulb holder.
Made from loaded stamped sheet nickel, all in excellent condition.
Stands straight with some slight adjustment made to the base pad.
Shade not included.
