This fine and impressive vintage men''s signet ring has been crafted in 9ct yellow gold.
The cut cornered square face of this armigerous signet ring is embellished with a chased decorated seal matrix (intaglio) of an eagle rising, all above the motto ''Moveo et proficior'' - I proceed and am more prosperous*.
The flared ring shoulders blend seamlessly with the plain 9ct yellow gold ring shank.
The interior of the ring bridge is hallmarked with the 9ct gold guarantee mark (9ct) the maker''s mark (E.T.+), the Edinburgh Assay Office mark (thistle) and the date letter for 1944 (O).
NOTE: * These heraldic markings pertain to the Knox family.
Condition
This vintage signet ring is excellent quality, with an impressive chased decorated intaglio to the anterior surface.
The ring is a superior gauge of gold for its type and is in excellent condition, with clear hallmarks to the interior of the bridge.
