Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The case opens with a push button at the top an hinges at the bottom to reveal a spring loaded holder to hold a sovereign. The cover of the holder is decorated with engine turned engraving and the lid interior is gilt finished. The sovereign case comes with a loop to suspend it from a fob or chain.

A nice antique collectors item.
Condition: In good antique condition, with a very small dint to one corner of the back - hardly noticeable but mentioned for complete accuracy.
Hallmarked Birmingham 1908 with initials J. G. slightly worn but most probably for James Griffiths.
Measurements: 3cm x 2.8 cm case Length including ring: 4.3 cm Weight: 19.2 grams
