Description

Very pretty late Victorian/Edwardian drop earrings in rich 15-carat gold set with gleaming almandine garnets and tiny seed pearls.

The earrings are unhallmarked (the posts are likely a later conversion from screw backs which would have had the gold stamp) but test as 15-carat gold. Fifteen-carat gold pieces are not overly common (in the UK only really used between 1854 and 1932) and this fineness was generally used in high quality pieces.

In excellent antique condition.
