Superb solid camphor wood campaign secretaire chest in stunning antique condition complete with working key. It has four carry handles and separates into two sections for easy transportation. The chest has four long graduating drawers and four smaller drawers, the central being the secretaire fitted with pigeon holes, a small drawer with brass handles and green baize. All the drawers run smooth, are of dovetail construction, decorated with ebony string inlay and have brass flush mount pull handles. This handsome chest has brass edges and ribbed ebony moulding around each drawer. An extremely well made chest in excellent condition having a warm colour, wonderful graining with normal marks and scuffs commensurate with age and use but nothing which detracts from this very solid secretaire chest. This is a striking example of period furniture offering not only storage and work space but history to any home.
All measurements are done to the widest point .
