Set of 12 Satsuma Meiji Period Plates

Description

Actually there are 12 x 7" Diameter plates plus one which is 8.5" diameter - so 13 in total.

All with the same decoration of Japanese men and women in a gathering either side of a river and with a bridge in the centre ground, edged with gold and bronze lozenges.

Dating to the late Meiji period around 1900 and marked for Shinzan they are all in excellent condition except one which has a small chip on the top edge.
