Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Artisan Antiques

We are delighted to offer this splendid late Victorian/early Edwardian double crescent pendant necklace made c.1900 in 14ct solid gold.

Celestial, classical and captivating, this necklace is immediately eye catching and distinguishes itself from contemporary piece, displaying a wonderful array of intricacy and Victorian flair.

The craftsmanship of this pendant is very fine with the goldwork featuring a lovely double crescent design with tapering. Set within are creamy antique seed pearls following the taper of the design in various sizes with two old cut diamond accents.

Such design not only demonstrates the impressive intricacy of jewellery making of this period but also serves as a lovely symbolic and celestial theme in an era where such topics were popular and romanticised. The colour choice of the pearls and diamonds contribute to the overall theme as if representing the moon and stars.

The pearls and antique gold tone compliment each other very well, serving as a versatile accessory to wear on many occasions whether be it a single statement piece or amongst other jewellery. Inoffensive in colour/tone yet regal in design and craftsmanship, this necklace might just be the perfect piece for the discerning antique jewellery lover with an appreciation for modest yet exquisite style and taste.

A spectacular gift for someone special or for yourself - Pearls are known to be the birthstone for June and diamonds, April.

The pendant is marked 14k on the reverse side.

All of our jewellery comes with a complimentary hard shell gift box with a velvet interior.

Ready to wear out of the box: All of our pendants also include the photographed thinner complimentary 9ct solid gold (modern) chain so that you can enjoy your newly acquired treasure straight out of the box.
