Antique Baluch rug, by the Mahdad Khani tribe of the Ferdows region of Eastern Persia.
Circa 1900.
A good Baluch rug with three rows of nine large Tekke Turkmen guls on a rich aubergine coloured ground. The secondary gul is the well known Turkmen ''Kotshak'' ram''s horn design. A very good Turkmen inspired Baluch rug.
The rug is in good condition with even wear and good pile, the wool is very soft.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
