Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The tortoiseshell lid is inlaid with exquisite silver pique decoration of displaying ribbons and bows with twining flowers stems. The interior of the box has a gilt lining and the lid pulls on and off with an easy fit.

Hallmarks are visible on the box for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1906 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver, along with the makers mark for the renowned silversmiths: Levi & Salaman.
