Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1950s.

The gemstone has an AnchorCert certifying that it has been tested and confirmed as a synthetic corundum, variety: orange sapphire, and estimates its weight as 7.73 carats. The stone has a great colour - deep orange with flashes of golds and green firing out from the faceted surface.

The ring is marked 585 indicating 14 ct. gold and there is a makers mark in the shape of a daisy or flower, which may be Scandinavian but we cannot identify it with certainty.
