Oxford University Sterling Silver Merton College Rowing Vesta Match Case 1911

Description

A rare English Edwardian antique solid sterling silver vesta case. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1911 with the maker being Horace Woodward & Co Ltd. It has been superbly designed being engraved with the crest of Magdalen College and to the reverse 'MERTON COLLEGE TRIAL FOURS 1913 Bow C.F.L.S. George, 2 L.F. Milner, 3 W.C. Davison, Str. P. H. Solomon, Cox A.H. Glandon. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It works perfectly with a strong mechanism. It measures approx. 1.75 inches (4.2cm) tall by 1.25 inches (3.2cm) wide and weighs 20 grams. A very high quality example.
