Pair Arts & Crafts Silver Serving Spoons, Hallmarked Sheffield by Lee & Wigfull. Registered Design Number Dated 1905

Description

A good pair of George V solid silver serving spoons in the Arts & Crafts style, with riveted edge design, made by Lee & Wigfull. Hallmarked Sheffield 1919/21. Each spoon with bright gilded bowl. There is a registered design number to the reverse of each spoon which shows that the pattern was registered in 1905; in the Arts & Crafts era.

Lee & Wigfull was founded in the 1860s by George Lee & Henry Wigfull. Although Lee had left the business by 1870, Henry Wigfull continued with the same company name and they remained in business into the 1950s.

In excellent condition throughout, presented in original velvet and silk lined fitted case.
