Charles Horner established a manufacturing business in Halifax, England, in the late 19th century, becoming renowned for innovative silver and enamel work, particularly during the Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts movements.

These items were predominantly crafted from sterling silver, frequently paired with natural gemstones such as amber, amethyst, or vitreous enamel to create distinctive floral and abstract motifs.

Authentic pieces typically feature the makers registered trademark stamp, usually showing the CH monogram, alongside assay office hallmarks denoting the city of testing and year of manufacture.

These versatile accessories can be pinned to lapels, heavy knit cardigans, scarves, or hats to introduce a touch of historical craftsmanship and personality to modern outfits.

Silver pieces should be cleaned gently using a soft, non-abrasive microfiber cloth to remove tarnish, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can damage integrated stones or patinated finishes.
