The Earring Curator has dated this piece to the 1940s.

• Condition: The earrings are in very good vintage condition. One has a small chip in the top layer of nacre, toward the back, but it's really something you'd only see if you are looking for it under magnification and the pearl layer beneath is exactly the same colour, see photos (I've tried to photograph it to its worst advantage!), I only mention it here for complete accuracy.

• Fixing: Secure integral hinged backs.
• Hallmarks/stamps: Continental hallmarks. The earrings test as 18-carat gold.
• Era: Estimated 1930s-mid-20th century.
• Size: The pearls measure 8mm diameter and the diamonds 3mm, at a rough calculation around 0.34TCW.
• Weight: 4.9g.
