A Rare Silver Mounted Hem Ruler/ Caliper

1900 - 1920
Description

A rare piece of sewing ware, this is a silver mounted Hem ruler/ caliper, dating to the early part of the 20th Century. The ruler is of silver plate, with measurements in Inches. There is a slider which moves up and down, allowing for a correct measurement to be taken. The terminal is of Sterling silver and has attractive floral and foliate detailing. A lovely example, making for a good addition to any sewing collection. Dimensions below.
